East Looe has a lovely sandy,
safe beach fronted by the promenade, and adjacent is the
unique Banjo Pier, where you can stroll or just sit and
watch the world go by. The town has numerous restaurants,
inns and cafés to cater for all tastes. In particular
if you like to eat fish, there are few better places in
Cornwall than Looe, where the fish is landed at the local
fish market only a few hours previously by the colourful
fleet of trawlers. - View

Images of Looe
On the quieter West Looe side of the river you
can find intriguing narrow streets leading to
Princes Square, on which sits the "Jolly
Sailor Inn", restaurants and shops.
The quay road leads to Hannafore
where its foreshore has magnificent sea views
to Looe Island, little beaches and numerous rock
pools in which children love to delve into.
Hannafore is the start of the south
coast footpath which attracts many visitors to
Cornwall. It is a National Trust property to Talland
Bay, Polperro and on to Polruan.
The area is well serviced
with two cafes / tearooms, tennis courts, bowling
and putting greens.
Looe is
effectively two towns in one, East looe having the hustle
and bustle of the 'fish auctions', waterfront, Banjo Pier
and sandy beach, to the quieter, tranquil West Looe and
Hannafore. Unlike many tourist towns Looe is always alive,
in Winter and Summer the shops stay open because its
still a working fishing port, with visitors all year round.
